SSPP-Fieldwork

As part of the Sub-Sahara-Palaeogene Project (SSPP), that is coordinated by us, fieldwork is undertaken in order to investigate the Eocene maar lake of Mahenge (Central Tanzania). One result of this fieldwork is the discovery of over 2000 vertebrate- and plant fossils. This material is currently studied at the Natural History Museum Berlin, at the Research Institut Senckenberg, Frankfurt and at the University of Greifswald.
